Our family heritage

My mother passioned by knitwear creation and having studied knitting technology in St.Petersbourg, Russia in 1989, started her career 2nd Knitting Factory in Ulaanbaatar, where she was assigned as an engineer and designer. The 2nd Knitting Factory was one of the largest knitting factories in Mongolia.

After having a short break to give birth to her 2nd child, Ms. Nyamkhand Ganbat, she returned to the knitting factory, but unfortunately it had changed its operation and turned into a sewing factory due to the democratic reformation in Mongolia. Following up her passion in knitwear and her desire to work by her profession, knitwear engineer, she created her own knit atelier, beginning with a small manual knitting machine, that her husband gave her as a present in 1994. 1 year later, she decided to create a company, and created the knitwear factory UUJIN LLC in 1995, becoming one of the first privately owned companies in Mongolia.

This is where the story of the exotic & unique Mongolian cashmere & yak down knitwear begins.
